We are now offering a 5 night culinary delight package at Coral Hill Bungalows.
Chef Joe Cannon one of the proprietors of Coral Hill Bungalows is now offering a culinary delight for foodies and food enthusiasts. Joe is offering cooking classes introducing recipes of Costa Rica Caribbean foods and style.
Joe spent many years as a Chef on Mega-Yachts creating culinary delights for the rich and famous throughout the world. During his last 3 years on a variety of yachts in Florida, the Bahamas and the Caribbean Islands he experimented in perfecting recipes that truly accent the ingredients and methods found throughout the Caribbean and especially the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica. In doing so he has compiled a wealth of different dishes. All the recipes reflect the worldwide influences that permeate the Southern Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica. Specifically Cahuita.
Cahuita is a small village on the Caribbean coast that is the home to decedents of Jamaican Turtle hunters, Chinese railroad workers, Italian, Swiss, German, French, Spanish, Canadian Expats and US Expats.
With such a large assortment of cultures the cuisine based on local ingredients is other worldly. Come see what unique and varied foods we have to offer.
The Package Includes
Transportation from and to San Jose International Airport
5 nights accommodations at Coral Hill Bungalows,
A full breakfast each morning,
2 cooking classes, preparing a 4 course dinner
A delightful Dinner of the foods prepared during the classes,
3 glasses of wine selected especially for the menu with each dinner
your choice of 2 adventure tours in the area.
Your Itinerary
Day 1. Upon arrival at San Jose International Airport or from your San Jose hotel, a driver will be waiting to take you to Coral Hill Bungalows in Cahuita. Arrive at your Bungalow and enjoy the peace and serenity, take a swim at the beach at Playa Negra, explore the village and enjoy a great nights sleep in our super comfortable custom made Bamboo 4 post bed with 1000 count cotton sheets
Day 2. Rise to a wonderful breakfast prepared by Chef Joe and then off to the beach, bicycling or to the Cahuita National Park to see the monkeys, sloths birds and other animals you may have missed from your porch. Return to your Bungalow in time for a 3pm cooking class. The class is about 2 hours and we will prepare 4 courses with a soup, salad, entrée and accompaniments and dessert. You will then have 2 hours before your dinner is served at 7pm.
Day 3. Arise to another great breakfast. After which you can partake of one of your adventure tours. The day and evening are yours to enjoy the many things that the area has to offer and some of the great restaurants of Cahuita.
Day 4. After breakfast we will take a trip to shop for some of the food for our second cooking class. Again at 3 pm the second class starts and we will prepare another 4 course Caribbean dinner. Class ends at 5 and dinner is served at 7pm
Day 5. After breakfast you can take your second tour you and spend the day exploring the Caribbean area. Lunch and dinner is on you own.
Day 6. Arise to an early breakfast after which your transport will arrive to take you to the airport or your hotel in San Jose.
Classes are limited to a maximum of 10 people, minimum of 4.
