Cahuita Village with its unique people, its charming restaurants and its lively bars, is what makes this a wonderful experience. It creates a positive energy that makes you want to never leave. It is amazing the way you feel while staying there. Peaceful is a good word. Tranquillo is how the locals explain it.
There are a few Pubs in the center of the village playing reggae music and serving cold beer. There is a Reggae bar and restaurant in Playa Negra, serving cold beer, Caribbean food and reggae music.
International cuisine is everywhere from Afro Caribbean, Costa Rica, French, Italian, Creole, Swiss, Spanish, Chinese and a combination of all. Over 14 at this time and growing. Wonderful little shops selling a variety of clothing and souvenirs.
Go snorkeling on the reef in Cahuita National park.
If you are looking for surfing try Playa Negra and Playa Grande, rent some horses for a few hours or horseback riding on the beach and in the jungle, or rent a local boat and have them take you fishing.
Get a bicycle or a scooter for the day and explore the entire area. See the many miles of beaches and jungles. Go Kayaking, hiking, canopy zip lining, canyoning, waterfall hikes, Indigenous Indian villages and much more. Enjoy the sights, sounds and smells.
Cahuita is located on the Caribbean Coast 40 kilometers south of the port city of Limon and 40 kilometers north of the Panamanian border.
